BEIJING, China, March 31 (NNN-XINHUA) – An earthquake measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale, jolted near Santa Elena, a town in south-western Ecuador, at 0704 GMT on Sunday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The epicentre, with a depth of 18.52 km, was initially determined to be at 1.9858 degrees south latitude, and 80.8081 degrees west longitude.– NNN-XINHUA
