Malaysia Reports 22,491 New COVID-19 Infections, 65 More Deaths

KUALA LUMPUR, Mar 24 (NNN-BERNAMA) – Malaysia reported 22,491 new COVID-19 infections as of midnight, bringing the national total to 4,054,926, according to the Health Ministry.

There are 382 new imported cases, with 22,109 being local transmissions, data released on the ministry’s website showed.

A further 65 deaths have been reported, bringing the death toll to 34,600.

The ministry reported 26,234 new recoveries, bringing the total number of cured and discharged to 3,771,463.

There are 248,863 active cases, 332 are being held in intensive care units and 189 of those are in need of assisted breathing.

The country administered a total of 27,592 doses of COVID-19 vaccines yesterday, and 84.1 percent of the population have received at least one dose, 79 percent have been fully vaccinated and 47.6 percent have received boosters.– NNN-BERNAMA
