Malaysia Reports 17,828 New COVID-19 Infections, Total Passes Four Million Mark

KUALA LUMPUR, Mar 22 (NNN-BERNAMA) – Malaysia recorded 17,828 new COVID-19 infections as of midnight, bringing the total tally to 4,010,952, according to the health ministry.

They included 407 new imported cases and 17,421 local transmissions, data released on the ministry’s website showed.

A further 63 deaths have been reported from the pandemic, bringing the death toll to 34,463.

The health ministry reported 28,003 new recoveries from COVID-19, bringing the total number of cured and discharged patients to 3,712,668 in the country.

Currently, there are 263,821 active cases registered in the country, with 358 of them held in intensive care units and 199 of them in need of assisted breathing.

The country reported 28,360 vaccine doses administered yesterday, and that 84 percent of the population have received at least one dose, 79 percent are fully vaccinated, and 47.5 percent have received booster shots.– NNN-BERNAMA
