Malaysia Reports 19,105 New COVID-19 Infections, 71 More Deaths

KUALA LUMPUR, Mar 21 (NNN-BERNAMA) – Malaysia reported 19,105 new COVID-19 infections as of midnight, bringing the national total to 3,993,124, according to the health ministry.

There are 386 new imported cases, with 18,719 being local transmissions, data released on the ministry’s website showed.

A further 71 deaths have been reported, bringing the death toll to 34,400.

The ministry reported 28,250 new recoveries, bringing the total number of cured and discharged to 3,684,665.

There are 274,059 active cases, 371 are being held in intensive care units and 203 of those are in need of assisted breathing.

The country administered a total of 27,330 doses of the COVID-19 vaccines yesterday, and 84 percent of the population have received at least one dose, 79 percent have been fully vaccinated and 47.4 percent have received boosters.– NNN-BERNAMA
