Brunei Reports 1,666 New COVID-19 Cases, Total Tally Tops 120,000

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Mar 18 (NNN-ANN) – Brunei reported 1,666 new COVID-19 cases yesterday, bringing the national tally to 120,600.

As a country with a population of 420,000, Brunei has witnessed a series of record-breaking days for infection in recent weeks.

All the newly recorded cases were local infections, the country’s health ministry said.

As of Mar 16, 59.2 percent of Brunei’s population have received three doses of the COVID-19 vaccines, while more than 94 percent of the population have received at least one dose.

The COVID-19 vaccines from Pfizer, BioNTech, Moderna, AstraZeneca, China’s Sinopharm are administered in Brunei.

According to the health ministry, one more patient died in the past 24 hours, bringing the death tally to 177.

Currently, 20,375 active cases are being treated and monitored in Brunei, where 100,048 recoveries have been reported.– NNN-ANN
