Bangladesh Reports No New COVID-19 Deaths For Second Consecutive Day

DHAKA, Mar 17 (NNN-BSS) – Bangladesh yesterday reported no new COVID-19 deaths for the second consecutive day, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said.

After about three months, Bangladesh on Tuesday logged zero deaths.

The official data showed a total of 29,112 people in the country have died, due to the disease, since the start of the pandemic on Mar 8, 2020.

The country reported 182 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday, taking the tally to 1,950,124. DGHS data showed, 13,179 more samples have been tested across Bangladesh as of yesterday morning.

The total number of recovered patients stood at 1,865,600, including 1,192 new recoveries yesterday, said the DGHS.

According to official data, the COVID-19 fatality rate in Bangladesh is now 1.49 percent and the current recovery rate 95.67 percent.– NNN-BSS
