Mexico Began Deporting Cubans

HAVANA, March 28 (NNN-Prensa Latina) — A group of 66 Cuban citizens deported from Mexico arrived in Havana Wednesday as part of the migration agreements between both countries.

A Mexican Federal Police aircraft landed at Jose Marti International Airport with 45 men, 20 women and a minor on board, who had left the island legally, but became irregular migrants on their way to Mexico.

According to the authorities, deported persons will return to their families, a common procedure in Cuba, unless they are people with some pending account with the justice system before leaving the country.

Cuba used the situation to insist on its call for regular, orderly and safe emigration to prevent people from becoming victims of criminal groups linked to human trafficking in the region. — NNN-PRENSA LATINA
