Rescuers Retrieve Three Bodies Trapped Inside Coal Mine In India’s Telangana

NEW DELHI, Mar 10 (NNN-PTI) – Rescuers in the southern Indian state of Telangana, retrieved the bodies of three people, who were trapped inside a coal mine, local media reports said, yesterday.

The men were trapped on Monday, after the mine, in Peddapalli district, collapsed.

The mine is about 200 km north-east of Hyderabad, the capital city of Telangana.

A local news agency quoted officials as having said, “The bodies of three persons – two officials and an outsourced worker – were recovered under the debris inside the mine, late on Tuesday night.”

The coal mine is part of the Adriyala Longwall Project. According to media reports, the rescuers manually removed the debris to recover the bodies.

Reports said, the mine collapsed on Monday afternoon, trapping a total of seven people, with four of them rescued.– NNN-PTI
