Greece Supports Lebanon’s Sovereignty, Regional Interests

BEIRUT, Lebanon, March 28 (NNN-NNA) – Greek Ambassador to Lebanon, Francisco Faros, said, his country supports Lebanon’s independence, sovereignty and regional interests.

“Greece contributes in the United Nations Interim Forces in Lebanon (UNIFIL) and it cooperates closely with the Lebanese Armed Forces, mainly by training maritime soldiers,” Faros said, during a ceremony held to celebrate Greece’s National Day.

Faros added that his country respects the United Nations’ resolutions, especially resolution 1701, which was adopted by the Security Council in 2006.

He added that Lebanon is democratic and welcoming, and thousands of Greek citizens enjoy living in the country.

George Eid, director of the Greek festival in Lebanon, previously said, there are around 10,000 Greek people living in Lebanon today.– NNN-NNA
