Former Senior Officials Discuss China-India Ties In High-Level Dialogue

NEW DELHI, India, March 27 (NNN-PTI) – Former senior officials positively evaluated the development of China-India relations, at a high-level two-track dialogue in Manisar, India’s northern Haryana state.

Former Chinese State Councillor, Dai Bingguo and former Indian National Security Adviser, Shivshankar Menon, delivered keynote speeches at the meeting’s opening ceremony, which was attended by more than 40 Chinese and Indian former government officials and academic experts.

The two sides discussed a wide range of China-India relations, including border issues, economic and trade cooperation, as well as, the increasingly important role of China and India in global affairs.

They believed that the dialogue was fruitful and expressed their confidence in the future development of bilateral relations.

The dialogue was jointly held by the Institute of South Asian Studies of China’s Sichuan University and the Institute of Chinese Studies in India.

The two sides agreed to hold the next dialogue in south-west China’s Sichuan Province in 2020. The first such dialogue was held in Meishan in Chengdu, provincial capital of Sichuan Province, in Nov, 2017.– NNN-PTI
