Malaysia Reports 11,034 New COVID-19 Infections, Nine More Deaths

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 8 (NNN-BERNAMA) – Malaysia reported 11,034 new COVID-19 infections as of midnight, bringing the national total to 2,925,254, according to the health ministry.

Among the new infections, 77 were imported cases, and 10,957 were local transmissions, data released on the ministry’s website showed.

A further nine deaths have been reported, bringing the death toll to 32,043.

The ministry reported 6,036 new recoveries, bringing the total number of the cured and discharged to 2,818,650.

There are 74,561 active cases, with 135 in intensive care.

The country reported 119,543 vaccine doses administered yesterday. Up to 80 percent of the population have received at least one dose of the vaccine, while 78.8 percent are fully vaccinated and 38.2 percent have received boosters.– NNN-BERNAMA
