ANKARA, Jan 22 (NNN-ANADOLU) – Turkey, yesterday, reported 72,555 new COVID-19 cases, raising its tally of infections to 10,808,770, according to its health ministry.
The death toll from the virus in Turkey rose by 181 to 85,600, while 87,192 more people recovered in the last 24 hours.
A total of 416,453 tests were conducted over the past day, it said.
Turkey started mass COVID-19 vaccination on Jan 14, 2021, after the authorities approved the emergency use of the Chinese Sinovac vaccine.
More than 57.3 million people have received their first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, while over 52.2 million had got their second doses.
Turkey has so far administered 140.55 million doses, including the booster jabs.– NNN-ANADOLU
