Three Indian Navy Personnel Killed In Explosion Onboard

NEW DELHI, Jan 19 (NNN-PTI) – Three Indian Navy personnel died, in an explosion that occurred in an internal compartment, onboard the Indian Navy Ship (INS) “Ranvir,” an official statement said yesterday.

The mishap occurred at the Naval Dockyard, Mumbai.

“The ship’s crew responded immediately and quickly brought the situation under control. No major material damage has been reported,” said the statement.

“INS Ranvir” was on cross coast operational deployment, from the Eastern Naval Command, since Nov, 2021, and was due to return to base port shortly, it added.

A Board of Inquiry has been ordered to investigate the cause of the explosion.– NNN-PTI
