Malaysia Reports 2,641 New COVID-19 Infections, 18 More Deaths

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 11 (NNN-BERNAMA) – Malaysia reported another 2,641 COVID-19 infections as of midnight, bringing the national total to 2,788,860, according to the Health Ministry.

Of the total, 338 new cases were imported, with 2,303 being local transmissions, data released on the ministry’s website showed.

In addition, 18 more deaths have been reported, bringing the death toll to 31,696.

About 2,808 patients have been released after recovery, bringing the total number of cured and discharged to 2,717,422.

There are 39,742 active cases, with 253 in intensive care and 106 in need of assisted breathing.

The country reported 223,463 vaccine doses administered yesterday alone, and some 79.7 percent of the population have received at least one dose, 78.6 percent are fully vaccinated and 24.6 percent have received boosters.– NNN-BERNAMA
