ANKARA, Jan 9 (NNN-ANADOLU) – Turkey yesterday reported 66,237 new COVID-19 cases, raising its tally of infections to 9,916,725, according to the country’s Health Ministry.
The death toll from the virus in Turkey rose by 141 to 83,529, while 34,592 more people recovered in the last 24 hours, the ministry said.
A total of 418,264 tests were conducted over the past day, it said.
Turkey started mass COVID-19 vaccination on Jan 14, last year, after the authorities approved the emergency use of the Chinese Sinovac vaccine.
More than 57.08 million people have received their first doses of the vaccine, while over 51.87 million had their second doses. Turkey has so far administered over 135.99 million doses, including third booster jabs.– NNN-ANADOLU
