SRC Case: Malaysian Court of Appeal Upholds Najib’s 12 Year’s Jail, US$49.79 Million Fine

PUTRAJAYA (Malaysia), Dec 8 (NNN-Bernama) — The Malaysian Court of Appeal on Wednesday upheld the conviction and 12 years’ jail term and US$49.79 million (RM210 million) fine on Najib Razak (picture) for misappropriating US$9.95 million (RM42 million) in SRC International Sdn Bhd funds.

Justice Abdul Karim Abdul Jalil, who is leading a three-member bench comprising Justices Has Zanah Mehat and Vazeer Alam Mydin Meera, dismissed the former prime minister’s appeal to set aside the conviction and sentence imposed by the Kuala Lumpur High Court on July 28, 2020.
