Singapore Reports 3,174 New COVID-19 Cases

SINGAPORE, Oct 26 (NNN-CNA) – Singapore reported 3,174 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday, bringing the total tally in the country to 175,818.

Of the new cases, 2,843 were in the community, 322 were in migrant workers’ dormitories and nine were imported cases, the Ministry of Health (MOH) said in a press release.

A total of 1,779 COVID-19 cases are currently warded in hospitals, with 261 cases requiring oxygen supplementation in the general ward, 107 unstable and under close monitoring, in the intensive care unit (ICU), and 64 critically ill and intubated in the ICU.

The current overall ICU utilisation rate is 83.6 percent.

In another development, 2,954 cases were discharged yesterday, of whom 428 are seniors aged 60 and above.

Fourteen more patients have passed away from complications due to the COVID-19 infection, bringing the death toll to 329, the ministry said.– NNN-CNA
