Indian Capital May Face Power Crisis, Seeks PM’s Intervention

NEW DELHI, Oct 10 (NNN-PTI) – Chief Minister of India’s Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal, yesterday said, the national capital could face a power crisis.

Kejriwal said, his government has written to the country’s Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, seeking his intervention in making adequate arrangements of coal and gas, to power generation plants, so as to ensure electricity supply to the city.

According to Kejriwal, the capital city has been facing a coal shortage since Aug, which affected power generation from major generating plants, supplying power to Delhi.

The Delhi chief minister has sought Modi’s intervention, for adequate coal to be diverted to plants like Dadri-II and Jhajjar TPS, which are supplying to Delhi.

He also requested gas allocations to Bawana, Pragati-I and GTPS, to supply power to Delhi.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister of southern Andhra Pradesh, Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, also wrote to Modi seeking his intervention in view of an alarming energy crisis in his state.– NNN-PTI
