Pakistan’s Daily COVID-19 Cases Drop Below 1,000 After Three Months

ISLAMABAD, Oct 8 (NNN-APP) – Pakistan’s daily COVID-19 cases dropped below the 1,000-mark yesterday, after a period of more than three months, the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) said today.

The NCOC, a department leading Pakistan’s campaign against the pandemic, said that, 912 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed yesterday.

Earlier, on July 5, Pakistan reported 830 confirmed cases, after which the number of new cases started increasing, forcing the government to impose strict measures against the pandemic.

The country has confirmed overall 1,256,233 cases, including 1,184,527 recoveries.

The number of active cases dropped to 43,648, who are under treatment across the country, while 2,761 are in critical condition.

According to the NCOC, the pandemic killed 26 people yesterday, increasing the overall death toll to 28,058.

Pakistan’s southern Sindh province is the most affected region of the country, with 462,155 infections, followed by the eastern Punjab province, which reported 435,040 infections.– NNN-APP
