KUALA KEDAH, Kedah, Sept 27 (Bernama) — The COVID-19 crisis has profoundly affected the economic and livelihood of the fishing community in Kuala Kedah, Kedah. Concerned about the motion waves of change of the fishing community derives from the recent Enhance Movement Control Order (EMCO), Agrobank had recently distributed 600 boxes of food aid through ‘Agrobank dan Komuniti’ programme on a ceremony held on 24 September 2021 (Friday).
This initiative is carried out through a collaboration with the Fishermen’s Association of Kuala Kedah and the National Fishermen’s Association (NEKMAT) to aid those impacted with EMCO. The EMCO has worsened the situation whereby the fishing community has severely loss their earning due to not being able to go to the sea for fish catching activities. The situation has also exacerbated due to the limitation of logistic facilities involving almost all areas in Kuala Kedah district.
