Malaysia condemns shootings in Christchurch

KUALA LUMPUR, March 15 (NNN-BERNAMA) — Malaysia’s Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Dr Mujahid Yusof Rawa strongly condemned the shootings today in Christchurch, New Zealand, which has left 49 people dead and 48 more injured.

A Malaysian is also reported to have been injured in the attack.

Mujahid expressed his condolences to the families of the victims and said he prayed for the safety and protection of all Muslims from such violence.

PKR party president Anwar Ibrahim also expressed his condolences and sympathies to the families of the victims, describing the incident uncivilized and contrary to human values.

The Malaysian High Commission in Wellington, when contacted by Bernama, confirmed that a Malaysian was injured in the incident but added that the person was in stable condition in hospital.
