Malaysia’s PM In Quarantine As Covid-19 Close Contact

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 30 (NNN-Bernama) — Malaysian Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob began self-quarantine today for having been a close contact of a COVID-19 patient and is unable to attend the swearing-in of ministers.

The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said in a statement that Ismail Sabri will not attend the swearing-in of ministers and deputy ministers today before the King, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah at the Istana Negara.

The PMO statement also said that the prime minister will also follow virtually the National Day 2021 celebration scheduled for tomorrow at Dataran Pahlawan Negara in Putrajaya.
