Myanmar Reports 595 New COVID-19 Cases

YANGON, Jun 22 (NNN-MNA) – Myanmar reported 595 new COVID-19 cases yesterday, bringing the total cases in the country to 148,617, according to a release from the Ministry of Health and Sports.

Three more deaths were reported yesterday, bringing the death toll to 3,265, in the country, the release said.

According to the ministry’s figures, a total of 133,753 patients have been discharged from hospitals, and over 2.67 million samples have been tested for COVID-19, so far, including 4,964 samples tested yesterday.

Meanwhile, the ministry imposed a stay-at-home order in Pyu township of Bago region, starting today, as the township has recently seen increasing number of COVID-19 infections.

Myanmar detected its first two positive cases of COVID-19 on Mar 23, last year.– NNN-MNA
