ANKARA, Jun 7 (NNN-ANADOLU) – Turkey yesterday reported 5,386 new COVID-19 cases, including 482 symptomatic patients, raising the total number of cases in the country to 5,287,980.
The death toll from the virus rose by 96 to 48,164, while total recoveries climbed to 5,160,774, after 6,003 more people recovered in the last 24 hours, according to the Turkish Health Ministry.
The rate of pneumonia in COVID-19 patients stood at 2.8 percent and the number of seriously ill patients was 1,096, said the ministry.
A total of 204,827 tests were conducted over the past day, with the overall number of tests in Turkey reaching 55,455,452.
Turkey started mass COVID-19 vaccination on Jan 14, after the authorities approved the emergency use of the Chinese Sinovac vaccine. More than 17,603,000 people have been vaccinated so far.– NNN-ANADOLU
