Iran Rejects Canadian Court Rule On Ukraine Plane Crash

TEHRAN, May 22 (NNN-IRNA) – Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, yesterday, rejected a recent rule by a Canadian court, on the Ukrainian plane which crashed near Tehran in Jan, 2020.

“Everyone knows that the Canadian court has no authority to rule about this plane crash … which took place outside of Canada,” spokesman, Saeed Khatibzadeh said, at the ministry’s website.

The Ukraine passenger flight was shot down on Jan 8, 2020, by Iranian missiles, shortly after it took off from Tehran’s Imam Khomeini Airport, killing all 176 people on board. Iran claimed the shooting was by accident.

The Ontario Supreme Court reportedly announced on Thursday that, the shooting down of the plane was “intentional and a terrorist act.”

Khatibzadeh dismissed the rule of the court as “political.”– NNN-IRNA
