Indonesia’s 1st “Bullet Train Home”: Jakarta-Bandung Railway’s Complex Building Topped Out

JAKARTA, Apr 6 (NNN-XINHUA) – A production and complex building of Jakarta-Bandung High Speed Railway (HSR), has been successfully sealed, marking another progress of the project construction, the railway’s operator said.

A statement released by KCIC, a joint venture consortium between Chinese and Indonesian state-owned firms, that runs the 142.3-km HSR, said, the building was sealed on Saturday and represents the completion of main construction of all three production and complex buildings in work section.

With a total construction area of 17,000 square metres, the building will be the command and dispatch centre for the Tegal Luar Electric Multiple Units (EMU) Depot, on the outskirt of West Java Province’s capital, Bandung, KCIC said.

KCIC also said, the Tegal Luar EMU depot is the first “bullet train home” in Indonesia, adding, it will become a professional workplace for the train inspection, testing and maintenance, after completion.

With a speed of 350 km per hour, the high-speed railway will cut the journey between Jakarta and Bandung, the capital of West Java province, from more than three hours, to around 40 minutes.– NNN-XINHUA
