Turkey Confirms 11,302 New COVID-19 Cases, 2,757,460 In Total

ANKARA, Mar 6 (NNN-ANADOLU) – Turkey yesterday reported 11,302 new COVID-19 infections, including 698 symptomatic patients, taking its caseload to 2,757,460, according to the country’s health ministry.

The death toll rose by 62 to 28,901, while the tally of recoveries climbed to 2,608,848, after 7,711 more cases recovered in the last 24 hours.

The rate of COVID-19 infections stands at 3.6 percent, and the number of patients in severe conditions is 1,232 in the country, said the ministry.

A total of 138,214 tests were conducted over the past day, raising the overall figure to 33,854,960.

The country started mass vaccination on Jan 14, after the authorities approved the emergency use of the Chinese CoronaVac vaccine. More than 7,503,000 people have been vaccinated so far.
