Head-On Crash In NE Bangladesh Leaves Eight Dead, 15 Injured

DHAKA, Feb 27 (NNN-BSS) – A head-on collision between two passenger buses, in Bangladesh’s Sylhet district, some 240 km north-east of the capital, Dhaka, yesterday, left at least eight people dead and 15 injured, a senior police official, said.

Monirul Islam, officer-in-charge of Sylhet’s Dakshin Surma Police Station, told journalists that, “at least eight people, including drivers of both the buses, were killed and 15 sustained injuries, in the head-on collision.”

The road accident occurred at around 6:30 a.m. local time, also left some passengers critically injured, he said.

All the injured were rushed to local hospitals and clinics, he said, adding that, the cause of the accident is under investigation.– NNN-BSS
