SEOUL, Feb 5 (NNN-YONHAP) – South Korea reported 370 more cases of COVID-19 as of midnight, compared to 24 hours ago, raising the total number of infections to 80,131.
The daily caseload was down from 451 in the previous day, falling below 400 in three days.
The daily number of infections hovered above 100 since Nov 8 last year, owing to small cluster infections in Seoul and its surrounding Gyeonggi province, as well as imported cases.
Of the new cases, 122 were Seoul residents and 110 were people residing in Gyeonggi province.
Nineteen cases were imported from overseas, lifting the combined figure to 6,444.
Eleven more deaths were confirmed, bringing the death toll to 1,459. The total fatality rate stood at 1.82 percent.
A total of 413 more patients were discharged from quarantine, after making full recovery, pulling up the combined number to 70,117. The total recovery rate was 87.50 percent.
The country has tested more than 5.84 million people, among whom 5,659,590 tested negative and 107,457 are being checked.– NNN-YONHAP
