Singapore Reports 30 New COVID-19 Cases

SINGAPORE, Jan 20 (NNN-CNA) – Singapore’s Ministry of Health (MOH) reported 30 new COVID-19 cases yesterday, bringing the total confirmed cases to 59,157.

Of the new cases, 26 are imported and four are in the community, according to the MOH.

All the imported cases had already been placed on Stay-Home Notice (SHN) upon arrival in Singapore. Of the local cases, one is currently unlinked and three are linked to previous cases.

Overall, the number of new cases in the community increased from six cases in the week before to 14, in the past week. The number of unlinked cases also increased from four cases in the week before to five cases in the past week, said the press release.

Yesterday, 26 more patients have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities. In all, 58,894 have fully recovered from the infection and have been discharged from hospitals or community care facilities.

There are currently 45 confirmed cases, who are still in hospital. Of these, most are stable or improving, and none is in critical condition in the intensive care unit.

Furthermore, 189 are isolated and cared for at community facilities. These are those who have mild symptoms, or are clinically well but still test positive for COVID-19.

Altogether 29 people have died from complications due to COVID-19 infection in Singapore.– NNN-CNA
