Gaza Holds Bicycle Marathon For Physically Challenged People

GAZA, Dec 22 (NNN-WAFA) – Dozens of Palestinians with physical disabilities joined a bicycle marathon, in the besieged Gaza Strip yesterday.

Wearing artificial limbs, around 30 competitors from all over the coastal enclave, aged between 16 and 45, joined the event that kicked off at the Nuseirat Refugee camp.

The Gaza-based Rehabilitation and Social Training Association, organised the marathon, in partnership with the Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP), to encourage people to abide by the anti-covid measures.

Lou’ai Abu Seif, director of the project, said, “The marathon aims to highlight the cause of disable people and their rights.

“It also aims to increase the community’s awareness about the rights of the disabled people and reduce the obstacles that prevent them from accessing services provided by official, civil and private institutions,” he said.– NNN-WAFA
