During the meeting, the Prime Minister congratulated Malaysia on the success of its recent general election and stated his government’s readiness to cooperate in promoting and strengthening bilateral relations.

“The Prime Minister (Gen Prayut) mentioned the importance of the ‘prosper-thy-neighbour’ policy of the Malaysian government under the leadership of (Prime Minister) Dr Mahathir Mohamad, which complements the Thailand government’s policy concerning the neighbour,” according to a statement by the Prime Minister’s Office.
