1,500 PARTICIPANTS ATTENDING 11TH SONATRACH SCIENTIFIC AND TECHNICAL CONFERENCE IN ORAN

ORAN, ALGERIA, April 16 (NNN-APS) -- About 1,500 participants from 27 countries, including chief executives of international oil companies, will be attending the 11th Scientific and Technical Conference of of Sonatrach, the Algerian national oil corporation, beginning the western Algerian city of Oran on Monday.

This year's event, being held under the theme, "Innovation and partnership in a context of global energy transition", will be addressed by 314 experts, from the executives of the Algerian National Oil Group, its partners as well as eminent researchers from the academic community and other management professionals.

The foreign experts come from the United States, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, France, Italy, Spain, England, Germany, Norway, Sweden and Malaysia, according to the chairman of the conference scientific committee, Dr. Djilali Benmohamed.

The event, organized under the patronage of President Abdelaziz Bouteflika, will also see the presence of senior leaders of energy groups which are partners of Sonatrach, according to the official.

The chief executive officers of Total (France), Patrick Pouyanné, ENI (Italy) Claudio Descalzi, CEPSA (Spain), Pedro Miro, Weatherford International (USA), Mark Mccollum, and other senior executives are expected at the event, added Benmohamed. -- NNN-APS
