MARINE POLICE CONSTANTLY MONITOR MALAYSIA-THAI BORDER

TUMPAT, Malaysia Dec 7 (NNN-Bernama) -- The Marine Police Force (PPM) are constantly monitoring the Malaysia- Thailand border in Kelantan state even during the flood season to prevent criminals and smugglers from slipping through it.

PPM Third Region deputy commander, Supt Mohd Pajeri Ali said they were carrying out patrols by boat along Sungai Golok to prevent any parties from slipping through the national border.

“We also have a diving unit and an intelligence unit located in several areas where smuggling activities often occur," he told reporters when met at the Pengkalan Kubor PPM operation headquarters here today.

He also urged the public, including residents living in the border area with information on smuggling activities to report them to the authorities.

Meanwhile, Mohd Pajeri said a total of 150 PPM Third Region personnel with 22 patrol boats were deployed in Kelantan, Terengganu and Pahang since last month.--NNN-BERNAMA
