OMAN DEPUTY PM, IRANIAN HEALTH MINISTER DISCUSS WAYS TO BOOST COOPERATION

MUSCAT, Oman, Apr 20 (NNN-ONA) - Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud al Said, Deputy Prime Minister of Oman, received Dr Seyyed Hassan Hashemi, Iranís Minister of Health, Treatment, and Medical Education, and his accompanying delegation.

Dr Hashemi conveyed greetings of Iranian President, Dr Hassan Rouhani, and the Iranian leadership along with good wishes to Sultan Qaboos bin Said and the Omani government.

They discussed ways to enhance cooperation in medical education, training of doctors and healthcare cadres and sharing expertise. In addition, they also discussed encouraging investments and reviewed matters of common concern.

Dr Hashemi hailed the efforts being exerted by the Omani government, in providing healthcare for citizens and residents, as well as, the remarkable progress made at the level of therapeutic services. He also affirmed that the sultanate has a good international reputation, due to the balanced policies being pursued at all levels.

Dr Hashemi also expressed his satisfaction on existing cooperation with the Ministry of Health. He also stressed on the importance of talks that he will hold in the sultanate, with the Minister of Health.

The meeting was attended by Dr Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Obaid al Saeedi, Oman's Minister of Health.-- NNN-ONA
