EIGHT BOYS NOW FREED IN DARING RESCUES FROM THAI CAVE. Police and military personnel use umbrellas to shield a stretcher near a helicopter and an ambulance in Chiang Rai, Thailand, on July 9, 2018, as rescue operations continued for those still trapped inside the Tham Luang Nang Non cave in the Mae Sai district. Four more of the youth soccer players trapped for more than two weeks in a flooded cave in northern Thailand were brought out on Monday, an official said, bringing to eight the number extracted in the ongoing high-stakes rescue operation. The next operation is scheduled to be launched by 4pm local time on Tuesday but the rescue chief said he could not guarantee the last five would be freed by the end of the day.
