MALAYSIA WORLD ELEPHANT DAY: PROSTHETIC LIMB HELPS ELEPHANT TO WALK AGAIN

MALAYSIA WORLD ELEPHANT DAY: PROSTHETIC LIMB HELPS ELEPHANT TO WALK AGAIN. Export-Import Bank of Malaysia (EXIM Bank) chairman Mat Noor Rawi feeds "Selendang", a 12-year-old female elephant who resides at the National Elephant Conservation Centre (NECC) in Kuala Gandah, Malaysia on August 10, 2017. Mat Noor glanced at Selendang's left foot and a feeling of satisfaction crept over him looking at the RM9,000 (US$1=RM4.33) prosthetic leg sponsored by the bank after the elephant lost her limb at the age of two. Selendang, also known as Miss Tripod at the centre, suffered permanent disability after walking into poachers' wire snares at Felda Selendang 3, Rompin, 10 years ago. The event was also to mark World Elephant Day celebrated on Aug 12, 2017. Photo courtesy bernama images
