7TH INTERNATIONAL AIDS SOCIETY CONFERENCE IN MALAYSIA

7TH INTERNATIONAL AIDS SOCIETY CONFERENCE IN MALAYSIA. WHO Director of the HIV/AIDS Department Gottfried Hirnschall is speaking at a press conference in conjunction with the 7th International AIDS Society (IAS) Conference on HIV Pathogenesis, Treatment and Prevention in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on 1 July 2013. World Health Organisation (WHO) estimates three million HIV related deaths and at least 3.5 million new HIV cases worldwide can be prevented by 2025 if its new guidlines on antiretroviral drugs for HIV are implemented. Hirnschall said the estimation is based on the recommendation by the "Consolidated Guidelines on the Use of Atiretroviral Drugs For Treating and Preventing HIV Infection" on the need to offer early treatment to people living with HIV.
