NEW MONKEY SPECIES FOUND IN CONGO. Researchers have identified a new species of African monkey, locally known as Lesula, in the rainforests of central Democratic Republic of Congo on Sept 12, 2012. Lesula is only the second known discovery of a new monkey species in the past 28 years. It is a medium sized, slender animal that looks similar to an owl-faced monkey already known to scientists.
