SOUTH AFRICA’S FUTURE GREEN BUILDING. South Africa has started construction of an eight billion Rand (about US$977 million) Green building here to house the Department of Water Affairs, signalling a new era in the country's response to climate change. The Green Building is an investment by government designed to meet green output specifications outlined in the Climate Change Policy which emphasises the use of sustainable building materials which promotes urban greening, energy and water efficiency.
