POLLS OPEN IN MONGOLIAN ELECTIONS. Mongolia's President Tsakhia Elbegdorj (C) casts his vote during parliamentary elections in Ulan Bator, Mongolia’s capital on 28 June 2012. They will be voting using a new electoral system that combines 48 single-member districts with 28 proportional representation members drawn from nationwide party lists. About 1.84 million registered voters will decide the 76 members of Mongolia’s parliament. Eleven parties and two coalitions are fielding 544 candidates, the General Election Commission website said.
