LIMA, March 10 (NNN-ANDINA) - The Peruvian team of lawyers and experts will meet in Paris next week to analyse the counter-memorial filed by Chile to the International Court of Justice in The Hague in order to solve the maritime border controversy, jurist Roberto Mac Lean said.

“The Peruvian team will meet in Paris to analyse the document with the Peruvian agent in The Hague, Allan Wagner,” he told Andina.

The team is formed by Peruvian lawyers Eduardo Ferrero Costa, Peru’s former Foreign minister, Vicente Ugarte del Pino, renowned jurist and Roberto Mac Lean, the only Peruvian at the international court.

Among the foreign members of the team are the French professor Allain Pellet, the American doctor Rodman Bundy and the also American professor Vaughan Lowe.

“Also, the American geographer Scott Edmonds and the judge Gilbert Guillaume,” said Mac Lean.

Peru argues that no maritime boundary has ever been agreed between the two nations, while Chile claims the border was established by treaties in 1952 and 1954. Peru says the pacts only governed fishing protocols. -- NNN-ANDINA
