KUWAIT, Jan 13 (NNN-KUNA) -- Opening the Comoros investment forum here, President Ahmad Abdallah Sambi of the nation island urged Kuwaiti and Arab investors to bring their investments to his country.
Investing in the Comoros is safe and easy and not risky in any way, he told the two-day forum which kicked off Tuesday, underlining major changes in the investment environment in his country in favour of investors.
He emphasized that his country offers ample avenues of opportunity to foreign investors and opens the door wide for them to pursue any lucrative investments they seek, with full support of the officials of the Comoros.
Sambi noted that it made sense to invest in his country at this juncture where opportunities and easy terms abound, as a viable alternative to investing elsewhere in a world that has recently been battered by a relentless economic downturn.
He assured the forum of his nation's appreciation for the support it receives from Kuwait, Arab, and Islamic countries.
In similar remarks addressed to the forum, member of the Kuwaiti Chamber of Commerce Abdallah Saud al-Hemaidhi stressed that the Kuwaiti private sector seeks to take the lead in supporting economic activities in the Comoros, in view of many incentives that have recently been given to foreign investors who wish to enter the Comoros market place.
Al-Hemaidhi, expressing his delight at Kuwait hosting the forum, was upbeat about its results which he saw as benefiting both nations.
