HONDURAN OUSTED PRESIDENT ZELAYA APPEALS TO LATIN STATESMEN

TEGUCIGALPA, Nov 24 (NNN-PRENSA LATINA) - Honduran ousted constitutional President Manuel Zelaya has appealed to Latin America's statesmen to support his country and ratify condemnation of the coup that set up the de facto government.

In a letter read by Radio Globo station, Zelaya asked the continent's nations to "maintain solidarity with Honduras, reaffirm condemnation to the coup and not support a coup regime."

He said that the current existence of an "illegitimate and spurious government" in the Central American nation is a disgrace for the region.

He said that the nation's stance with the June 28 coup weakened the process to revert the coup and showed division among the international community.

Regarding consultations to the Nov 29 polls , Zelaya stated that de facto government is trying to legitimise itself with the holding of "illegitimate elections".-- NNN-PRENSA LATINA
